Brenna Davis — Sustainable Leadership for People, Planet, and Purpose

Brenna Davis is a nationally recognized environmental scientist, sustainable business expert, and organic food advocate who is reshaping the future of business through purpose-driven leadership. As CEO of Organically Grown Company (OGC)—the nation’s leading Perpetual Purpose Trust-owned company and the largest independent organic food distributor—Brenna is at the forefront of a movement proving that values and profitability can grow together.

Under her leadership, OGC has advanced its mission to support organic agriculture, regenerative food systems, and resilient communities, all while delivering strong business performance. Her unique approach balances financial success with long-term environmental and social impact—earning national recognition across industries.

In 2025, Brenna was named one of the Top 100 Impact CEOs in the United States by the MO 100 Ranking, landing at #20 on the prestigious list. The MO 100 Top Impact CEO Ranking honors visionary business leaders who are harnessing the power of business to build a better world. Now in its eighth year, the list celebrates CEOs who lead with integrity, foster shared prosperity, and champion innovation and sustainability. Brenna’s inclusion reflects her commitment to aligning profit with purpose and her ability to lead OGC as an engine for good in the organic food industry.

Throughout her career, Brenna has helped businesses grow their impact and profitability across seven sectors. Her work spans climate and health initiatives, public/private partnerships, and long-term governance strategies. As a member of the executive team at PCC Community Markets—one of the largest consumer-owned natural food cooperatives in the U.S.—she deepened her focus on community-driven business models and transparent supply chains. She also helped shape national food policy in collaboration with the Obama administration, furthering her impact on sustainable systems change at scale.

A founding steward of the Purpose Pledge—a pioneering movement of companies committed to long-term stewardship and governance innovation—Brenna is a trusted voice in the national dialogue around sustainable leadership, mission preservation, and the future of business ownership.

Brenna’s work has been widely featured in national media, and she’s contributed to several bestselling books focused on business as a force for good. She is the author of the forthcoming Leading in a World on Fire: 10 Steps to Resilient Leadership for People, Planet, and the Future, a bold, practical guide for leaders seeking to thrive in an era of rapid change.

A Certified Corporate Director (NACD) and Human Potential Coach, she brings a systems-thinking lens to everything she does. She holds degrees in Environmental Science and Business Management, along with graduate certificates in Systems Thinking, Change Management, and Leadership. She currently serves on the boards of Global Ocean Health and the Perpetual Purpose Trust Ownership Network, where she supports sustainable governance and climate solutions.

Brenna lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and their beloved rescue dogs. Outside of work, she finds joy in gardening, mushroom hunting, and music—staying grounded in nature while leading bold change for a thriving, just, and sustainable future.

“If you feel safe in the area you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area. Always go a little further into the water than you feel you’re capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting.”
