I’ve spent my life at the intersection of systems and soul. I began as an environmental scientist, trying to understand why businesses harm the planet. That journey took me from oil refineries to organic farms, from policy rooms to boardrooms. Over time, I came to see that the root of so many problems isn’t just strategy—it’s how we lead, how we hold power, and how we imagine the future. Today, I serve as a CEO, board director, and advisor to mission-driven companies. I work with leaders who are building what’s next: regenerative businesses, stakeholder-led models, and cultures where people and the planet matter as much as profit. I’ve worked across seven industries, advised companies from $20 million to $200 billion, and helped steward some of the most innovative governance structures in the country—including one of the first Perpetual Purpose Trust-owned businesses in the U.S. At heart, I’m a writer. Writing is how I connect the dots, make sense of change, and offer tools for leaders navigating the fire. Leading Through Fire is the book I needed when I was learning to lead without burning out—when I was trying to stay human while holding complexity, responsibility, and hope. I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband and our rescue dogs. I believe in forest walks, rock and roll, and the radical power of clarity. And I believe leadership, when practiced with care and courage, can be one of the most life-giving forces on Earth. |
